Your role at BHSN:

As an Administrative Assistant at BHSN, you will work directly to help the People Operations Department meet the legal, regulatory, audit, programmatic, and practical requirements related to onboarding, staffing, record keeping, and traditional Human Resources (HR) functions. You will work within web-based platforms, electronic files and databases, as well as paper-based systems, to ensure that agency records are kept organized, timely, and compliant.

What your day might look like:

  • Maintains confidentiality with respect to, but not limited to, background check results, terminations, employment decisions, salary rates, medical information, accommodations, leave status, and personnel records;
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to all internal and external consumers;
  • Support POD with any administrative tasks necessary;
  • Identifies appropriate forms for facilitation of employee inquiries, assists employees with completing forms, and directs forms to the appropriate People Operations specialist;
  • Performs a variety of required, program-specific background checks;
  • Schedules incoming employees for background check appointments, fingerprinting and new-hire paperwork;
  • Prepares and presents various reports, as requested;

Your skills and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or High School Equivalency required;
  • Associates degree or BA/BS degree preferred;
  • Behavioral Health experience preferred;
  • Human Resources experience strongly preferred;
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel.
