The National Park Foundation (NPF) is seeking a motivated, highly skilled Sr. Data Analyst to join the IT team. This key support role is instrumental to the success of NPF’s IT priorities.

The Sr. Data Analyst will work closely with the Vice President, IT and different departments to plan, coordinate, and implement effective strategies to achieve security and audit goals. This person will help integration, database structure and security implementation, help formulate a data analysis environment while also helping users with technical administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Department Creation: Lead the establishment of the Data Department, including defining roles, responsibilities, and operational workflows.

Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.

Database Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases and data systems, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and reliability.

Data Security: Implement and enforce data security protocols and standards to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access and breaches.

Data Integration and Architecture: Collaborate with IT and other departments to establish data integration strategies and architectures that support business objectives.

Reporting and Analytics: Support the organization's analytics and reporting needs by ensuring data availability, accuracy, and relevance. Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to integrate data management applications with existing systems.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and standards and oversee audits and assessments as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Proven experience (3 years) in data administration, database management, or a similar role, with a track record of successfully establishing or leading data departments.

In-depth knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), data warehousing, and data modeling principles.

Strong understanding of data governance practices and regulatory requirements.

Experience with data security protocols and implementation of data protection measures.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in data management or related fields (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor).

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
