Purpose of Position:
The Lead VDC Specialist is responsible for performing the modeling and coordination assigned by the Lead VDS/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager for design/build, design/assist, and any other traditional construction-type project requiring design or BIM services.This opportunity would be hybrid in North Carolina (offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro).
Scope and Accountability
The VDC/BIM Specialist is responsible for completing assigned tasks by the Lead VDC/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager and is also responsible for maintaining and enhancing our client's professional image.
Job Functions (Essential Functions):
- Modeling and coordinating electrical systems (raceways, supports, and electrical equipment) to provide a fully constructable installation.
- Compare submittals to what is modeled.
- Create coordination and spool drawings for installation and prefabrication.
- Work under the direction of Lead VDC/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager.
- Routinely meet with the Lead VDC/BIM Specialist to verify the work performed is appropriate and completed promptly.
- Maintain relationships with others in the organization to provide for a positive work climate.
- Assume other duties as directed by appropriate authorities.
- Adherence to our client's policies and procedures, including Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
Job Specifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Drafting and BIM software (NavisWorks, Revit, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of electrical installation (preferred).
- Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize essential functions of this job to meet deadlines.
- Ability to foster and maintain teamwork skills.
- Develop proficient and professional communication skills.
- Able to adjust and be flexible to sudden demands.
Our client has a business casual working environment.Normal office hours are 8 am 5 pm but can be somewhat flexible.
