We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a High School Alternative Teacher at St. Francis Indian School, also known as Sicangu Oyate Ho Inc., located in St. Francis, SD. As an Alternative Teacher Credit Rec, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students in our community.

About the Role:

As an Alternative Teacher Credit Rec, you will work with high school students who may be at risk of not graduating on time due to various obstacles they face in their academic journeys. You will provide instruction, support, and guidance to help these students earn the credits they need to graduate and succeed in the future.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing individualized education plans for students
  • Delivering engaging and interactive lessons
  • Assessing student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and community members to support student success
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • A valid teaching license or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals
  • Familiarity with alternative education programs and credit recovery initiatives
