McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., L.P.A. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated tax senior associate or partner to shape the future of our Taxation practice group.


Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of tax-related matters, including but not limited to tax planning, tax compliance, and tax controversies.
  • Familiar with taxation of C and S corporations and LLCs.
  • Conduct thorough and detailed legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Assist clients in tax planning and structuring of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, transitioning of business, succession planning, and other business transactions.
  • Identify potential tax risks and propose strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Manage income tax, gift, trust, and estate tax returns for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including corporate transactional attorneys, litigation, and estate planning, to ensure seamless integration of tax considerations into transactional matters.
  • Prepare and review tax-related documents, including contracts, agreements, and disclosures.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior associates on tax law issues.


Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to Ohio bar.
  • A CPA license, or advanced status in a Master of Law or L.L.M. in Taxation program will be considered a benefit.
  • Experience conducting in-depth tax research and consultations on various tax matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in providing tax advice on complex business transactions.
  • Experience mentoring junior associates.
  • Portable book of business helpful.
