General Summary

The Data Analyst manages and analyzes business data to support decision-making and improve organizational efficiency. This role oversees data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting for grants and organizational data management. The position requires expertise in customizing and maintaining CRM systems, such as Salesforce, and proficiency in managing online forms and databases. The Data Analyst should also be capable of integrating data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity, and writing queries or reports for analytical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aggregate and perform statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources or functional areas, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and updating data as needed.
  • Customize and maintain CRM (currently Salesforce) to meet organizational needs.
  • Develop and manage online forms and databases for efficient data collection.
  • Write queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
  • Interpret data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality control, and compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Perform queries and project requests, as needed for program teams and senior leadership.
  • Train staff on CRM usage and data management best practices.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of data management principles.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit grant management processes.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Salesforce customization and maintenance, specifically NPSP.
  • Strong skills in developing and managing online forms and databases.

Abilities

  • Ability to analyze data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams.

Required Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data management, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout the state, have a current/valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and have reliable transportation by automobile at all times.
  • Ability to meet background check requirements upon initial hire and for the duration of employment.
  • Have and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, if a working in the state of Arizona.

Selective Preference

  • 2+ years’ experience with NPSP and Program Management Module in Salesforce. Zoho or Hubspot also a plus.
