Kiddie Academy of College Station has an opening for a dynamic, caring and flexible person to join us as a Part-time Support Teacher/Teacher Aid. This is a vital position requiring a positive attitude, creativity, collaboration, and most of all the versatility to work in any our classrooms with children ranging from 6-weeks through school age. You’ll be a valued member of a passionate team of child care professionals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for helping prepare and implementing proprietary curriculum, and assist in completing assessments and reports for the children daily
  • Helps and supervises children during all activities
  • Speak with parents and/or guardians during pick-up and drop-off hours
  • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems when they arise
  • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained and safe
  • Helps children with meal times and clean-up
  • Assist classrooms ranging from young infant to school-age children in areas such as: paperwork,  daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position
  • Must be able to adapt to teaching in any of the Academy classrooms
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of OR must be in a high school work study program relating to the area of child care
  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management
  • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
