Senior Asphalt Lab Technician

PRIMARY JOB TASKS: (Essential Duties)
- Perform Laboratory tests on soils, concrete, construction materials, and asphalt to conform with Caltrans, ASTM, AASHTO test methods, and State procedures.
- Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel as well as client contacts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Provide detailed reports and data from test results.
- Ensure all samples are accurately logged.
- Provide laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Document and implement test process.
- Sample inventory management.
- Documentation and data maintenance
- Perform field inspection, testing and sampling as needed.
- Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites.
- Communication (oral and written), mechanical, and technical skills.
- Understand construction and manufacturing process, engineering drawings, and assembly testing.
- Must be punctual, professional, reliable, and dependable.
- Ability to work effectively with company personnel, as well as with clients and vendors in coordinating client requirements with company’s capability to satisfactorily complete jobs.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying hours when required.
- Knowledge of building systems & construction techniques.
- Ability to work both inside and outside in varying weather conditions.

- 10 years of concrete, soil, asphalt concrete, other construction materials and/or laboratory testing experience and mix design processes.
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of basic math and physics concepts including Algebra
- Ability to work variable hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Excellent organizational skills
- Valid California driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
