Position Overview

Blind Stitch 1 sews bottom hem or side hem on all custom draperies with a blue or white belt machine.

What you'll do

● Remove draperies from rack onto blue belt machine
● Blue belt machine is operated by the employee
● Make minor adjustments for correct stitch for all fabrics
● Hem work according to the work ticket on racks
● Review work tickets for any special hemming instructions
● Notify mechanic of any major problems with machine
● Clean and oil machine daily
● Work closely with racker giving them information on direction
● Report production standard daily
● Make supervisor aware of any work related problems that occur
● Pinning fold down the width of drapes, on sheers
● Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are

● High school graduate
● Sewing experience, experience with industrial sewing machines
● Ability to use and read a tape measure
● General knowledge of fabrics
● Ability to use hand tools
● Successfully pass color blind test
● Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
● Capable of standing for extended periods of time
● Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
● Strong attention to details
● Follow written and verbal instructions
