Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working closely with team members to facilitate efficiency and patient/physician satisfaction as well as promoting a positive team atmosphere for all staff and patients
- Counseling and coaching the pain staff by guiding, directing and motivating in a team atmosphere
- Leading the onboarding and training process for pain management staff
- Scheduling and leading monthly staff meetings, performing monthly quality review processes, completing regularly scheduled performance reviews with staff and managing employee performance issues
- Managing the pain management staff schedules as well as the call schedules and procedure schedules
- Overseeing pain procedure scheduling and scheduling processes
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory as well as regular monitoring and maintenance of sharps disposal containers
- Monitoring all message pools and assisting staff with reviewing and responding to Triage messages in an appropriate time period
- Making recommendations for improvements and achieving departmental goals and objectives
- Working in clinic and procedures with staff as necessary; checking patient medical records for pertinent data, verifying procedure, medications, and allergies; reviewing and maintaining accurate patient information/demographic data
- Chart preparation for procedural clinics; rotating through physician/patient clinics and procedure scheduling when necessary
- Educating patients and their caregivers on the procedure and discharge instructions
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid and active Nursing License required
- One year of leadership experience is required
- Three years of pain management clinical experience is required
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; proven ability to build and lead teams
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
- Proven ability to critically think and make clinical decisions based on verbal and written communication
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and assist in lifting patients up to 300lbs
- Ability to travel to all ORA clinics
