AR Specialist

Our client, a well-established medical center, is hiring an AR Specialist to assist their billing department This is a direct hire position that offers the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule and many avenues for internal growth

Position: AR Specialist

Pay Rate: $26.56 - $31.77/hr depending on experience & education

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm (hybrid- 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Day to Day:

• Carry out billing, payment posting, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
• Perform patient account reconciliations, monitor accounts for non-payments, and other irregularities
• Generate accurate aging analysis and other ad-hoc billing reports on a monthly basis
• Compile information for collection agencies
• Conduct thorough research to resolve payment discrepancies
• Investigate and resolve patient concerns, communicate with internal and external customers
• Process adjustments accurately and timely
• Review patient statements for accuracy and completeness before they are mailed
• Ensure denied claims are corrected and resubmitted within timely filing guidelines. Determine the root cause for the rejections and advise on procedural changes to correct
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
• Work with electronic healthcare records systems teams to update EHR’s for changes in payers, billing codes and payer rules.
• Process and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner
• Follow established procedures for processing receipts and providing documentation to Finance
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements:

• Associates degree in related field
• Minimum of 5 years+ experience in full cycle medical billing
• knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
• Experience with CO Medicaid, Medicare, and 3rd party payors
• Behavioral Health billing experience (preferred)
• Certified in Medical Billing & Coding (preferred)
• Nestsmart MyAvatar experience (huge plus)
• Bilingual in Spanish (huge plus)
