Austin, United States Adlucent Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $57,000

Are you the Marie Curie of spreadsheets, a virtuoso of organization, and an ever-curious innovator? Do you enjoy delving into numbers, solving problems, conducting experiments, and communicating ideas based on your findings? Can you seamlessly switch between collaborative brainstorming and dedicated independent work? If you have a constant drive to improve efficiency and a passion for experimenting with processes to drive results, then you might be the scientific mind we're seeking.

We're in search of a Digital Marketing Specialist who lives for curiosity, embraces analytical prowess, and wields captivating communication skills. We invite those who can add to our vibrant, creative, and driven team, pushing boundaries and embracing our motto of being Better Every Day. Come join us at a company celebrated as one of Built In Austin's Best Places To Work in 2023, and let your talent shine.

Here’s what it takes to be successful in the role:

  • Curiosity & Skepticism: you are always asking “WHY?” and sometimes one answer isn’t good enough. You have an internal drive to learn more and expand your knowledge. You look at situations from multiple perspectives.  You approach answers with a critical eye, willingly delve into ambiguity, and persist until you uncover the truth.
  • Analytical, Strategic, Creative Problem-Solving: you have an analytical mind and enjoy working with data to derive insights. You use insights and knowledge to develop robust strategies and visions for success. You love coming up with creative solutions to new and old problems alike.
  • Initiative: you are a gritty self-starter who is driven to find answers, solve tough problems, and overcome challenges. You are willing to take calculated risks and initiate action despite the uncertainty of outcome.
  • Communication & Storytelling: you can easily communicate complex information or nuanced situations. Your stories have a clearly defined beginning, middle, and end. You know what details are necessary and what details to leave behind. You are able to marry data and storytelling to  communicate a compelling vision.
  • Adaptability: you comfortably adjust in evolving or ambiguous situations. You use creativity to tackle new and existing challenges. You’re ready and excited for change in the digital landscape.
  • Self-Development: you’re reflective, self-aware, and you enjoy learning through experience. You seek opportunities to learn and to develop yourself and others, you are willing to learn from failure,  and you embrace our core philosophy of Better Every Day.

The Role:

The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) is a learning-based entry-level role, designed to introduce and train team members on the skillsets needed to begin a successful career as an Account Manager in digital marketing.

  • ADL-U Foundations: DMSs receive comprehensive training with their hiring cohort (usually 6-8 DMSs), beginning with a 7-week onboarding program called ADL-U: Foundations. This program includes classroom time, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities on real accounts. It’s  designed to equip new hires with essential digital marketing knowledge and skills and prepare them to integrate into their teams.
  • Integration With Your Team: Once on their teams, DMSs collaborate closely with more experienced Account Managers and Supervisors in an apprenticeship model, where they acquire expertise in account management methodologies, performance analysis, and client communication through hands-on experience. DMSs continue to have the support and mentorship of their team throughout the course of their role, but will also be required to take initiative for their own learning and skill development.
  • Your Responsibilities: DMSs will manage diverse account responsibilities with a focus on execution, data, and reporting. They'll gain exposure to various businesses, marketing strategies, and channels. Responsibilities include contributing to digital marketing projects, conducting in-depth account performance analysis, and making data-driven decisions. Additionally, DMSs will assist their account team with  client inquiries, requests, and strategic communications, while actively seeking opportunities for client growth and optimization.
  • Your Goal: This role is focused on learning & development. Success in this role looks like continued growth into an Account Manager and taking ownership for your skill development with the support of your team. Typically, DMSs will learn on a smaller client account or a portion of a larger account as they grow into their role while developing the skills needed to take full ownership.
