Job Description:
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our client's team. This position is ideal for recent graduates looking to start a career in logistics or individuals with office experience who are eager to learn and grow in this field. The role involves coordinating freight and managing logistics operations for the company’s products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Freight Coordination: Manage and oversee the coordination of freight for trucking products, ensuring compliance with documentation regulations.
- Scheduling and Planning: Book and schedule trucks, plan flatbed shipments, and collaborate with carriers to align freight plans with the shipment calendar.
- Shipment Management: Address and resolve delayed shipments while working with the team to ensure timely transportation.
- Rate Analysis: Conduct rate analysis with carriers, vendors, and brokers to negotiate and secure optimal rates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate internal documentation of shipments and receivables and prepare Customs documents such as Commercial Invoices and Bills of Lading.
- Customer Communication: Provide updates to customers on shipment statuses and offer detailed reports on carrier performance and shipment impacts.
- Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries and assist with invoicing processes in collaboration with warehouses and manufacturing shipping locations.
- Service Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to enhance service delivery to consignee and customer locations.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate eager to begin a career in logistics, or 1-2 years of office experience working with Excel.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable with MS Excel and data manipulation.
- Strong desire to learn and advance in the logistics industry.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work occasional Saturdays and adjust hours based on business needs.
