Project Accountant

Rist-Frost-Shumway Engineering, P.C. (RFS), is a 95+ person professional consulting engineering firm with offices in Laconia, NH, Boston, MA, and Portland, ME. We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our talented and team-focused staff in our Laconia office.

The Project Accountant will support the project executive(s) by managing the budget, billing, and expenses for multiple projects. This will require setting up the project work breakdown structure in RFSs ERP software (Deltek Vantagepoint), managing subcontractor budgets and invoices, analyzing project time and expenses, monthly project billing, and tracking and collection of project accounts receivable.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of contracts, change orders, and financial documentation including invoices (previous experience in an accounts payable and/or accounts receivable department preferred); a comfort level with using ERP software applications (Deltek-Vantagepoint); proficiency with Excel; and good problem solving and analytical skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and think creatively is also required.
