Are you a master negotiator with a knack for assisting clients while minimizing delinquency? We are seeking an experienced and skilled Collections Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of collections strategies, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to handle complex and sensitive financial situations. This role is crucial in minimizing delinquent accounts while maintaining the company’s exceptional service level.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of receivables.
  • Contact clients with past due transactions, via phone calls and through written communication. Phone call volume often the majority of the workday.
  • Develop and implement strategies for negotiating with clients. Address disputes and resolve issues to reach mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, maintaining a positive company image.
  • Researching client activities via proprietary systems and online resources.
  • Ability to easily navigate between multiple browsers, internet, and proprietary systems.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all clients and third-party contacts.
  • Handle complex accounts and difficult situations with professionalism.
  • Math/Accounting/Financial Analysis skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, with a focus on high-risk or highly delinquent accounts.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with heavy call volumes.
  • Proficiency with collections software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be in the Austin, Texas Metro area with the ability to commute to the office as required.

 

Preferred:

Knowledge of financial services or real estate helpful but not required.

 

Core Working Hours:

9 am – 6 pm (CST)

Monday – Friday

No weekends

 

Additional Information:

This position is Hybrid, but primarily remote. In-office hours are required twice each month. Initial training is on-site for approximately 2 weeks. Must have sufficient internet connection to sustain a full workday of internet use, i.e., data input, dialing the phone, video conferencing. The selected candidate must also have a home office location free from distractions that will provide the ability to ensure confidentiality of work product.
