Job Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our pharmacy department. The Director of Pharmacy will play a critical role in facilitating the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe, cost-effective drug therapies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, process guidelines, and protocols to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.
  • Oversee the provision of safe, effective, and appropriate pharmacotherapy for all patients.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes through evidence-based medication management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Manage the pharmacy budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of care.
  • Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice, regulations, and technology to enhance service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy degree program.
  • Current Illinois Pharmacy license (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
