A. This is an enterprise position at Raleigh Radiology in Raleigh, NC who services several hospitals in the Southeastern US.
B. The primary function of the Hospital Operations Manager is to oversee hospital operations, ensuring smooth functioning and compliance with standards. This role includes handling regulatory compliance, conducting audits and evaluations, managing complaints, and supporting executive leadership.
C. This position reports to the Executive Director of Operations.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee Hospital Operations - 40%
a) Manage day-to-day hospital operations, ensuring smooth functioning and compliance with standards.
b) Collaborate with hospital staff to optimize workflow, improve patient throughput, and enhance service delivery.
c) Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient, high-quality services.
d) Monitor key performance indicators, analyze operational data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and productivity.
e) Foster a culture of excellence and teamwork among hospital staff, promoting collaboration and effective communication across departments.

2. Regulatory Compliance - 25%
a) Handle QA, JCAHO, MQSA, and ACR requirements, ensuring all regulatory standards are met.
b) Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
c) Develop and maintain compliance documentation and reporting processes.
d) Conduct regular reviews and updates of regulatory compliance policies and procedures.

3. Audits and Evaluations - 20%
a) Conduct study audits, as well as FPPE and OPPE requirements, to maintain high-quality standards.
b) Develop and implement audit and evaluation protocols.
c) Analyze audit results and implement corrective actions as necessary.
d) Ensure continuous quality improvement through regular evaluations and feedback mechanisms.

4. Complaint Management - 10%
a) Address and resolve lower and mid-level complaints, improving patient, staff, and partner satisfaction.
b) Develop and implement complaint resolution processes.
c) Monitor and analyze complaint trends to identify areas for improvement.
d) Foster a positive patient experience by effectively managing and resolving complaints.

5. Support Executive Director and Hospital Medical Directors - 5%
a) Take over several operational functions from the Executive Director of Operations and Medical Directors, enabling them to focus on strategic initiatives.
b) Provide operational support and assistance as needed.
c) Collaborate with executive leadership to implement strategic projects and initiatives.
d) Ensure seamless communication and coordination between operational and strategic functions.



Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE A. Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in radiology, healthcare administration, business management, or a related field is preferred.

B. Experience:

  • Proven experience in hospital management or a similar role is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in healthcare operations management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in operational efficiency is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in managing audits and evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (QA, MSQA, JACHO, ACR, and HIPAA).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across various stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities.
  • Experience in handling complaints and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, implement process improvements, and manage complex projects.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to read without strain printed material the size of typewriter characters, glasses permitted, and the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, or the ability to compensate satisfactorily; may be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. Frequent, prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Frequent, prolonged periods of sitting or sedentary work in front of a computer. VI. NATURE OF SUPERVISION A. Instruction / Assistance / Review of Work: The Hospital Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational success of the hospital and will report directly to the Executive Director of Operations. This leadership position offers the opportunity to contribute to the mission of providing exceptional patient care and operational efficiency. The individual will be a results-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, making complex decisions, and working through ambiguous situations. Further, this position will be responsible for driving initiatives and results at the hospital and will collaborate across departments to ensure end-to-end operations with seamless access to patient care and an unsurpassed patient experience.
