REPORTS TO:

Director of Retail Planning

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Planner is responsible for the day-to-day management of customer demand and reconciling it against financial and inventory plans. The Planner will be primarily focused on planning, vendor managed orders, and assessing and recommending merchandising strategies to drive sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial and Inventory Planning (50%)

  • Push weekly sales reporting to internal teams.
  • Assess incoming orders and reconcile against financial plan and blank availability. Partner with production and account management team to secure On-Time Ship.
  • Build and deliver a yearly financial sales plan in partnership with sales.
  • Forecast business monthly in partnership with sales.
  • Forecast yearly licensing demand.
  • Forecast and buy blanks efficiently to maximize sales potential and turnover.
  • Participate in analysis of customer margin requirements and giveback requests.

Vendor Managed Inventory (30%)

  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided through the development and maintenance of order fulfillment best practices.
  • Interface with customers, buyers, and replenishment managers to deliver on replenishment strategies.
  • Plan & replenish inventories based on realistic, data driven, demand planning.
  • Manage product transitions, while working closely with customer to ensure flawless execution to minimize slow moving product by efficient phasing in/out of SKU's.
  • Ensure communication of replenishment, inventories and order issues are addressed timely.
  • Responsible to manage customers’ expectations for inventory and service KPI's, case fill, and delivery of new products.
  • Review customer EDI reports weekly to generate customer replenishment orders to meet weekly inventory/turn levels as specified by customer.
  • Achieve customer expectations via their internal metrics (weeks of Supply, Out of Stocks, Fill and Service expectations).

Merchandising Analysis and Input (20%)

  • Provide merchandising recommendations based on global sales trends and customer sales data.
  • Provide on-floor reporting that exhibit shifts in customer and consumer strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-4 years of retail planning, demand planning analysis experience and developing customer/item level forecasts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of retail/retail math and how it relates to the Supply Chain is required (Inventory turns, Sales trends, Stock to Sales ratio, Margins, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data.
  • Advanced Microsoft excel user (pivot tables, lookups, report format creation, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
