We are on the search for a detail-oriented eCommerce QA Analyst with Shopify experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and a solid understanding of eCommerce platforms, software testing, and QA methodologies, especially concerning the Shopify ecosystem.


A typical day in this role will involve collaboration with developers and Shopify marketing admins on issues like:

  • Creation of test plans for features under development
  • Documentation of bugs found by customers and internal users
  • Configuration of automated regression tests using on-device testing services like Browserstack
  • Exploratory testing
  • Configuration of test orders and collaboration with outside 3rd party integration partners
  • Maintenance and enhancement of GitHub Actions-based build pipelines


Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and other testing artifacts
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure consistent project execution
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs to resolution
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
  • Maintain a 1:1 Shopify staging environment
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of build and release pipelines in GitHub


Qualifications

  • Experience with Shopify platform testing is required
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience with a modern testing framework like Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, etc.


Nice-to-have skills

  • Scripting experience using Javascript, Python, or similar
  • Understanding of Git branching and common Git workflows
  • Experience with automated on-device testing using a service like BrowserStack
