SUMMARY


The Ground Support Equipment Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment and stationary equipment such as loading bridges, stationary air conditioning units, baggage conveyor systems, ground power units, and other equipment in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.


  • Inspects, services, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and overhauls ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, and drive-train components.
  • Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Performs preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes, etc. on-ground equipment.
  • Performs minor/major repair of ground support equipment such as carburetors, starter motors, alternators, batteries, radiators, hydraulic drive components, diesel engines, etc.
  • Transport vehicles to be repaired by driving, towing, or pushing the vehicle into the service bay.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.
  • Reports any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or properly performed work to supervisor or lead.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Must have your own tools
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Valid certification (ASE) preferred
