JOB TITLE: Nursing Administrative Assistant

STATUS: Part-Time

TYPE: On Campus/Hybrid as permitted by Director of Nursing

REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing


PURPOSE

The Nursing Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing and the nursing department by providing essential administrative support. This position is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation an daily organization of the nursing department while ensuring that prospective and current students are equipped with the necessary tools and information for program success. The Nursing Administrative Assistant is a key contributor to supporting the school’s mission and actively fosters a friendly and positive virtual work environment, engaging with students, staff and faculty members.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or higher; or equivalent experience in education, administration, or other area that would support the job requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and timely follow through
  • Customer services experience
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • High School Diploma or college degree or equivalent experience in education, administration, or other area that would support the job description.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

RESPONSIBILITIES

Required job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support the mission of Smith Chason College
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Nursing, or their designee, to assess immediate and long-term needs
  • Maintain Director of Nursing schedule
  • Manage agenda and minutes for meetings including: general faculty, curriculum, program evaluation, and program advisory
  • Input theory and clinical schedules to the Leadership Schedule and submit to Registrar
  • Maintain student and faculty files
  • Schedule Director of Nursing Interviews (DONI) with students
  • Other projects as assigned by Director of Nursing or their designee

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motions
  • Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with others
  • Must be able to occasionally function in activities that include walking, bending, squatting, and reaching
