JOB PURPOSE

 

The Human Resource Generalist undertakes a broad range of human resource related responsibilities that include but are not limited to coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining personnel files for staff and vocational employees. The HR Generalist is a support to administrative assistants and the Human Resource Director.

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM - 30-minute lunch


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exemplify the culture and mission of the agency.
  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Completes payroll reporting for vocational employees.
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, agency policies, announcements, etc.
  • Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
  • Collaborate with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Maintain employee training files, personnel records, and confidentiality.
  • Ensure all successful candidates are properly screened, background checks performed, and formal offer letters are produced and delivered in a timely manner in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and laws.
  • Uses traditional and non-traditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, and community network events to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Collaborate with RISE recognition committee.
  • Maintain and evaluate the employee emergency record book.
  • Represents RISE in a professional manner.
  • Cooperatively works with departments to carry out the agency’s goals and objectives.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner.
  • Follows safety protocols to foster a safe working environment.

All other duties assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in human resource management, business management, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and will be subject to random drug and alcohol checks thereafter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.
  • Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
