Field Service Engineer - Controls

Our client is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and collaborating effectively with your team. This position requires hands-on experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in Electrical Technology or similar military training is preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in electrical testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to travel outside the assigned territory, including overnight stays.
  • OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus; training can be provided.
  • NICET and IR certifications are desirable, with a requirement to obtain them within the first 12 months.

Day to Day

  • Perform testing on Instrument, CT, PT, and CPT transformers.
  • Conduct Low and Medium Voltage Breaker Testing.
  • Support Switchgear Start-up and Commissioning.
  • Carry out Power Transformer Testing (e.g., Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, Winding Resistance).
  • Interpret and work with one-line diagrams.
  • Adhere to electrical safety procedures and protocols.
  • Complete service reports, timesheets, and business expenses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in internal safety audits and complete required training.
