POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Foundation and Impact will lead all aspects of the operations for the Louisiana Credit Union League's non-profit Foundation. This position requires an experienced and dynamic leader who will oversee the strategic direction, relationship management, fundraising, grant-making, and credit union growth efforts to ensure the foundation's mission is effectively fulfilled. This position will report to the VP of Member Solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Strategic leadership & Board Relations:

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term vision for foundation initiatives.
  • Pilot relationship with the National Credit Union Foundation
  • Prepare strategic plan for Foundation and present to board of directors annually.
  • Maintain a relationship with the Foundation board with consistent information through regularly scheduled meetings and email.
  • Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and development of board members.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships and programs to help credit unions become catalysts for change and impact in the communities they serve.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate relationships that can affect growth initiatives for Louisiana credit unions.
  • Create interactions between credit unions and other agencies to address community needs.
  • Visit CUs and chapters to share Foundation resources and obtain feedback in an effort to enhance foundation activities.
  • Lead efforts to partner with financial literacy organizations and outside agencies to enhance the Foundation's mission and be visible in the community.

Fundraising Management and Development:

  • Foster fundraising opportunities, along with pursuing other financial donations and programs
  • Manage Louisiana's Hall of Fame memorials and honorariums

Grant Management:

  • Manage and evaluate grant impacts to Louisiana credit unions.
  • Activate statewide disaster relief grant efforts to support credit union employees.
  • Provide credit unions with information quickly to assist in efforts to secure the grant money needed.

Education Services:

  • Oversee education grants for Louisiana's small credit unions.
  • Administer Enhanced Counselors Program for Louisiana credit unions seeking to accredit certified financial counselors

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing and/or community engagement preferably in the credit union space.
  • Industry-related certifications are considered a plus.
  • Commitment to personal and team member education, growth, and development

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in strategic management
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups of people and convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to have moderate to extensive travel to visit credit unions, attend meetings, and provide foundation education.
  • Self-starter with the ability to see a need and fill that need with the resources available.
