WHAT YOU WILL DO:


The Stop Now and Plan Program serves children ages 6-11 years old who are experiencing impulse and emotional control issues. This program helps children, and their parents learn how to effectively manage emotions, maintain consistency, and keep problems or behaviors from escalating. This program is a 13-week program that meets weekly. The Stop Now and Plan facilitator is responsible for administering the Stop Now and Plan curriculum to the parent or child group.   • Completes intake, pre, and post assessments
  • Follows up on incoming referrals and schedules clients for intake appointments
  • Monitors youth and family’s progress through weekly compliance calls
  • Facilitates SNAP® curriculum within the fidelity of the model
  • Liaises with relevant community agencies to include schools, community-based agencies, and Police Departments to enhance outreach
  • Completes data reporting requirements for intake assessments
  • Ensures weekly materials are prepared and ready for SNAP® groups including handouts, manuals, and all other required items
  • Supports the SNAP® Coordinator with organization of food arrangements as needed
  • Participants in pre-briefing and de-briefing meetings weekly with other SNAP® Team members
  • Participates in weekly consultation calls with the Florida Network
  • Facilitates SNAP® in Schools curriculum in 13-week cycles as assigned
  • Prepares technology that is required for weekly group delivery
  • help youth and families strengthen and manage the quality of their lives through engagement, advocation, initiate change agent activities, provide community support, teach problem solving skills, model productive behaviors, and assist in the successful completion of youth and family development milestones

Training:

  • The facilitator must attend the 5-day core SNAP training once hired. In addition, before group begins, the facilitator will assist in completing a pre-brief and debrief before and after each group, meeting with the families if they are to need further assistance with the curriculum.
Requirements:

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work is (preferred)
  • High School diploma with a minimum 3-5 years' service experience (required)
  • Experience with structured groups and parent education groups (preferred)
  • Community/agency liaison experience (preferred)
