Summary

We are a small center located in Powell area of Knoxville looking for Early Childhood Teacher.
This position requires a highly mobile person who is detail
oriented and an efficient multi-tasker. We are looking for someone that will
enjoy coming to work to play with children, develop lesson plans, maintain
growth goals for self and children, be flexible, respect rules and policies,
manage classroom area and needs, as well as be a good role model to our
children and families. This position requires handling of high energy children
which makes for an exciting day so the ability to manage well is critical. We
are motivated to hire great teachers to provide the best experience possible
for our families. Our pay schedule is competitive. Pay is dependent on

Duties

  • Teach children through interactive play
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies/procedures and state regulations are followed.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene, cleanliness standards, as well as safety and security of children.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain training and personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of DHS licensing rules and regulations.


Nice To Haves

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • A CDA, Early Childhood Technical Certificate, or Associate Degree in related field.
