Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Bilingual Translator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication between our English-speaking team members and Spanish-speaking stakeholders. This position involves in person translation of technical documents, training materials, and communications related to hazardous materials management as needed. The role may also require occasional online translations for remote projects and document translations as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate technical documents, safety manuals, training materials, and other resources from English to Spanish and vice versa.
  • Assist with on-site interpretation during hazardous materials training sessions and meetings.
  • Provide remote translation services for online projects and virtual meetings.
  • Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translations to maintain clarity and consistency of messaging.
  • Collaborate with project managers and subject matter experts to ensure translation accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Previous experience translating technical content, particularly in hazardous materials management or related fields, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of terminology related to environmental health and safety (EHS) and hazardous materials.
  • Proficiency in using translation tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, including occasional remote translation assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in professional translation and interpretation.
  • Certifications in translation or interpretation are a plus.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials regulations and practices is an advantage.
