This position assists in the development and oversight of resident services, including planning and coordinating opportunities for residents that promote a level of health, wellbeing, engagement and growth.

General Day to Day Responsibilities Will Include…
  • Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
  • Assists, invites and encourages residents to participate in activities.
  • Assesses, plans and manages facilitation of comprehensive activity programs utilizing team members and volunteers, including appropriate mixed group activities for Memory Care and Assisted Living residents.
  • Attends all activity functions and coordinates event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event.
  • Facilitates regularly scheduled and specialized event activities in the Memory Care unit.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for scheduled activities and special events.
  • Maintains activity areas in an orderly manner.
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services.
  • As applicable, responsible for daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
  • Distributes community newsletter.
  • Meets with new residents to introduce the program.
  • Assists Director in leadership of wellness program.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
The Right Candidate Should Have…
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
  • One to three years experience preferred in assisted living, long term care or experience/exposure to the senior population.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows, including Word and Excel. Ability to use software to design calendars and signs. Ability to use email and the Internet.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision.
