Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEnlistment is required for this position.
 To become an enlisted Soldier in the U.S. Army, you must be:

A U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
In good physical condition
In good moral standing
A high school graduate or equivalent

This is a job skill that is performed in the US Army or Army Reserves as a Soldier. Enlisting is required and will undergo pre-qualifying questions, an interview, an academic test, and a physical. This is an initial entry job skill, no experience necessary. The US Army will send you to the school to learn the job and get the necessary certifications.

The Role:

As a Geospatial Engineer 12Y, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, harnessing the power of geospatial intelligence to support critical decision-making across all branches of the military. Your keen eye for detail and expertise in mapping, terrain analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS) will play a pivotal role in planning and executing strategic missions worldwide.

Responsibilities:

Utilize state-of-the-art equipment and software to collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data.
Create precise maps, charts, and 3D models to provide accurate intelligence for military operations.
Conduct terrain analysis to assess environmental factors and identify potential threats and opportunities.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support mission planning, targeting, and reconnaissance efforts.
Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in geospatial intelligence to enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Strong proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, ENVI, or QGIS.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
