Shift time: 2nd shift - Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm ($1.00 shift differential)

Viking Drill & Tool, a premier tool manufacturer known for quality, consistency, service, and value, is seeking a Precision Grinding Machine Setup Technician to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate grinding machines used in the manufacture of cutting-edge tools, grinding internal and external surfaces of metal workpieces to specifications.

What You Will Bring: Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

  • High School or GED
  • Available to work full time (40 hours/week) on 2nd shift, meeting attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

What You Will Do:

  • Full time (40 hours/week), timely and consistent attendance
  • Read blueprints and or job cards for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be produced
  • Install parts into machines necessary to insure proper function of machine process
  • Set machine controls to specified grinding speeds, feed rates, and angle of wheels
  • Verify dimensions of finished work piece for conformance to specifications
  • Maintain efficient operations of all machines to ensure maximum productivity
  • Assist in the operation of all machines
  • Complete necessary paperwork and inventory input for maintaining proper documentation of operation
  • Troubleshoot machinery
  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe work environment
  • Willingness to participate in various continual improvement efforts
  • Training is provided

You will work with our Machine Operators and Set Ups and report to our Shift Facilitator.
