Groomer Helper/Assistant

Doggie Dude Ranch is a busy daycare and luxury boarding facility looking for a groomer helper/assistant to join our team Option for full time will be available as we start building grooming clients in the coming months. Our ideal applicant will have at least some entry-level experience, willing to continue to add to their experience with training. We will train the ideal candidate that is enthusiastic and interested in working in this industry. We're looking for someone that enjoys spending time with dogs, is enthusiastic about working in the pet sector, is a good team player, friendly, and professional. This role can be entry-level or experienced. Along with scheduling, providing excellent customer service, and cultivating strong client relationships, you'll master all the fundamentals of bathing and grooming dogs.  See the list of responsibilities and experience below. Job Duties:

Love Dogs

Must be responsible and punctual. 

We work by appointment, so missing days frequently or running late to work regularly negatively impacts customers and others.

Bathing, brushing, and drying all dogs in a safe and timely manner 

Checking anal glands on all dogs, and express if necessary 

Trimming nails, cleaning ears, and removing any eye crust 

Following all special instructions 

Ensuring that all relevant information is reported to Groomer and the parents in a timely manner 

Notifying Groomer of any abnormalities noticed on pet (ie: cysts, scabs, fleas, ticks, sores, anal gland issues, etc.) 

Ensuring all special instructions are accurate in our systems

Ensuring the grooming rooms are clean, well-supplied and all equipment is in working order

Answer phones and book appointments

Check customers in and out.

Discuss grooming services and packages with customers.

Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently is critical in this job.

No experience necessary; will train the right candidate, however professional experience working with animals preferred (owning a pet does not count).

Customer service and/or cash handling is a plus.
