Under the supervision of the COO of the Truss and Component Division (TCD), the Plant Manager of Truss and Component Division is responsible for the execution of day-to-day task management. This employee leads, plans, directs and manages the operation of the Truss and Components Division by performing the following duties personally or through delegation to leadership of department heads engaged in carrying out their goals, objectives, policies, program and services. This employee will be responsible for providing leadership and managing a skilled, knowledgeable and helpful design, sales, production and operations staff, in a professional, profitable and efficient manner in order to achieve return and capital creation to allow for growth. All employees are expected to be consistent in following company policies and procedures and safety guidelines; timeliness, quality, accuracy and thoroughness of work performed; attendance, dress, leadership, teamwork, honesty, integrity and respect for others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures that design and manufacture of products meets or exceeds customer specifications and technical guidelines.
2. Ensures continuous improvement plans are reviewed regularly and implemented properly.
3. Works with Design Manager and Production Manager to coordinate and delegate work assignments, set priorities and oversee daily work commitments and projects to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
4. Provides technical knowledge and assistance to all internal and external customers from start to finish of projects, including identifying and resolving design, material and procedural conflicts and/or questions that add value for customers.
5. Monitors inventory and assesses material needs, including special materials to ensure that material is readily available to avoid production disruption while maintaining just-in-time processes that optimize the plant and yard capacities.
6. Implements safety culture, develops and updates safety program, oversees safety committee and ensures proper reporting and mitigation of incidents.
7. Promotes a culture of excellent customer service and regularly engages with customers to monitor customer satisfaction and evaluate ways to improve customer service, customer retention and new sales opportunities.
8. Develops annual sales and operations budgets and goals in conjunction with COO with clear objectives, strategies, quality standards, budgets, milestones and initiatives.
9. Builds an industry leading organization through effective recruitment, retention, employee development and rewards/recognition. Communicates and demonstrates company vision and goals with employees.
10. Develops a dashboard of metrics to inform daily, quarterly and annual decisions regarding business operations and growth opportunities.
11. Monitors sales, production and performance goals for TCD in operations.
12. Monitors expenses to meet budget and performance goals of TCD, identifies problems and takes corrective action as necessary.
13. Develops and implements strategies to target specific customers or markets with the goal of increasing sales.
14. Monitors jobsite feedback and institutes programs to ensure customers concerns are resolved and needs are met.
15. Manages a quality assurance program that encompasses all areas of the operation, including design, sales, production and logistics.
16. Manages warranty and repair, compiling statistics to determine patterns that can be corrected during the ordering, sales, or delivery process. Also manages quality assurance, and any installation or product issues.
17. Develops a maintenance schedule for all equipment.
18. Monitors competitors’ sales performance and assists with creating strategies to gain market share.
19. Assists all operation staff to make sure the day’s work gets done.
20. Responsible for interviewing and hiring all TCD staff.
21. Responsible for product development and vendor relations.
22. Researches and resolves product and service discrepancies as necessary.
23. Oversees the duties and responsibilities of all employees in the areas of operations, inventory control, internal procedures as they are in the policy and procedures manual, the special order tracking system, shipping and receiving of goods, coordinating logistics, dispatch, and general office management.
24. Oversees production capacity, quality, purchasing, scheduling, training, safety, inventory control, and sales. Oversees delivery and dispatch, coordinating of logistics, will call, safety, facility management, vehicle maintenance, and customer interface.
25. Maintains the product and performance requirements of all areas that he manages to be able to support their positions when they are away, or as necessary.
26. Conducts quality performance evaluations in a timely manner.
27. Identifies and proposes expansion of facilities and equipment.
28. Assists with and performs special projects and duties that require research and analysis.
29. Maintains a quality attendance record.
30. Takes responsibility for own mistakes and errors.
31. Has a team player attitude.

Requirements:Supervisory Responsibilities
Leads and manages TCD Employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of TCD. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree is preferable or years of related experience within a customer-service driven environment and at least 10 years in management. Experience must also include successful management of disparate disciplines, i.e. finance, operations, administration and marketing.
Comprehension/Communications Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to understand, use and effectively communicate financial, technical, regulatory and operational data. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad variety of people. Ability to influence the thinking of others through persuasion and team decision-making skills as opposed to the authority of rank is essential. Must be an extremely effective communicator, orally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills
Must have excellent mathematical skills.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
