Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with project teams to refine design concepts that meet client specifications and project objectives.
  • Prepare and evaluate architectural drawings and specifications for precision, functionality, and compliance with project guidelines, budgets, building codes, and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead the coordination of project activities, engaging with engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure effective project execution.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress, address design challenges, and confirm adherence to architectural plans.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices to introduce innovative ideas to the team.
  • Engage in client communication to present design concepts, gather feedback, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:


  • Architect License is essential. Candidates licensed outside of California must agree to obtain a California license within two years of employment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant architectural experience, including leadership in project management.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in California.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated portfolio showcasing a variety of successful projects and design excellence.
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainable design certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience with government, educational, cultural, athletic, and community facility architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) is highly desirable.
