College Student Summer Employment

Hours: 12-hour shifts on our 3-4 rotation schedule
We currently have a College Student Summer Employment positions in Manufacturing at our Yellowstone Plastics facility. This would require a minimum of a 12-week commitment. Each College Student that completes the 12-week commitment will be awarded with an additional $2,000 college tuition kicker at the end of summer
Job Summary
This position will assist with manufacturing tasks and operating machinery to ensure efficient production, quality, and safety.

Essential Duties
- Operate various equipment according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule by loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, shipping, and process Enterprise Resource Planning transactions.
- Contribute towards departmental goals.
- Build working relationships with a variety of team members.
- Assist with various manufacturing/warehouse tasks to ensure efficiency.
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store, process ERP transaction)
- Assist with inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Inspect goods for defects and damage.

Education and Experience
- Basic skills normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing or manufacturing practices and methods is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time.
- Capability to lift and carry objects of various weights, ranging from light office supplies to heavy machinery components.
- Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing, writing, operating machinery, assembling products, etc.
- Sufficient visual acuity to read documents, operate equipment, and recognize details at close and distant ranges.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
- Endurance to withstand prolonged periods of physical activity or work shifts.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach low or high objects, particularly relevant for jobs that involve material handling or maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects.
- Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills for tasks that require precision, such as operating machinery or using hand tools.
- Adaptability to work in varying environmental conditions, such as temperature extremes, noise, dust, or fumes, depending on the nature of the job.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear, including helmets, goggles, gloves, and safety shoes, as required by the job.
Travel Requirements
This position does not require any overnight travel or any travel within the workday.
