Manufacturing Company located in Stafford, TX, looking for a Warehouse Lead to join our Shipping and Receiving department. This position is going to be responsible for ensuring that all warehouse functions are completed accurately and on time. Keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets Company standards for safety, security, and productivity. Responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. Checks outbound shipments for accuracy and readiness for customer delivery.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

  • Follow order pick sheets to pull orders accurately and prepare them for immediate shipping
  • Keeps his supervisors updated and aware of order progress and alerts them when a problem arises
  • Promotes quality by demonstrating personal accuracy and thoroughness, while working at a fast pace
  • Follows warehouse rules and procedures when it comes to organization, cleanliness, handling of partial pallets and grouping of parts by series
  • Shows outstanding awareness of safety procedures and works in a clean and organized way
  • Suggests ideas to improve company procedures
  • Able to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventory
  • Takes immediate action to correct or report unsafe actions behaviors or procedures
  • Able to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventory without damage to the parts, company equipment or third party
  • Can inspect orders pulled by other coworker's, point out and correct mistakes and follow GTI Shipping & Receiving guidelines to ensure shipments are sent 100% accurate and on time
  • Can use the computer and applications to check in-stock, estimate shipping dimensions and weight, find parts locations, print all documents related to the shipping orders among others
  • Knowledgeable of the parts, part numbers, systems and its features and functions
  • Able to train new employees on all the basic responsibilities and duties of a shipping and receiving employee
  • Has the experience in shipping and the parts knowledge to act as an order inspector
  • Able to use heavy equipment as well as ancillary equipment to assist in order completion
  • Must have the knowledge to distribute heavy truck loads correctly making sure that shipments comply with Department of Transportation Weight Limit Rules
  • Must be able to supervise a team in the completion of complex tasks
  • Must exhibit Leadership Skills that will allow him/her to take on more responsibilities
  • Has full knowledge of the warehouse location system, part series designated areas and procedures to properly locate, subtract, and move parts from warehouse locations
  • Warehouse locations assigned to the employee consistently maintain a low error rate concerning misplaced parts or parts showing incorrect counts
  • Expert trainer. Is able to train employees in all complex procedures, administrative tasks and international shipment preparation
  • Supports the execution of monthly cycle counts to validate inventory quantities
  • Consistently maintains the warehouse inventory ready for the successful execution of cycle counts and audits
  • Supports the warehouse organization, cleanliness and accurate pallet information at all times.
  • Supports proper receiving procedures, including detail count of shipments
  • Must follow procedures to maintain orderly records of all received shipments requiring Certificates
  • Maintains his/her assigned warehouse area organized clean and properly labeled
  • Conducts monthly cycle counts in their assigned warehouse area and conducts initial basic investigation of discrepancies found
  • Makes sure that all internal and external incoming inventory is properly counted, verified, inspected, labeled and paperwork completed in compliance with GTI administrative procedures
  • Must follow proper receiving procedures, including detail count of shipments, inspection of goods received and proper administrative and record keeping
  • Must keep all inventory organized and located in order to facilitate cycle counts, inventory counts and to enforce "First in First Out" (FIFO) rules
  • Makes sure that all internal and external incoming inventory is properly counted, verified, inspected, labeled and paperwork completed in compliance with GTI administrative procedures
  • Has full knowledge of priority part numbers in his/her area and checks them periodically at least once a week for accurate counts (Priority Parts - Top selling/Top Margin/GTI priority list)
  • Must be able to process incoming and release to production paperwork
  • Expert on inventory, location maintenance and accuracy
  • Can be in charge of a team during inventories, cycle counts and audits
  • Investigates large inventory discrepancies found inventories, cycle counts and audits
  • Is fully aware of GTI's top selling parts and stays 100% involved and aware of those part numbers, in-stocks, location accuracy and future needs for new and pending orders
  • Inspects receiving procedures and pertinent paperwork for all shipments received
  • Conducts periodical spot checks on all established procedures to make sure the employees are executing them appropriately (Incoming, receiving )
  • Expert on part specific requirements and able to properly maintain all required paperwork in order (QC inspections, Mill Certificates, etc.)
  • Must exhibit the skills expected of an employee that is ready for a leadership position in a short notice
  • Reports to Warehouse Manager

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to accurately count and solve simple arithmetic problems
  • Must be able to work well with others as a team
  • Must be able to understand and execute Lead or Supervisor's guidance with minimal supervision
  • Must have basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Must work in an organized and safe manner
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast pace goal oriented environment
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and sharp with paperwork and other administrative tasks
  • Must understand inventory concepts
  • Must be able to understand and follow warehouse procedures
  • Must have initiative and flexibility to work in different areas of the warehouse performing a variety of tasks, including tasks outside of the shipping and receiving core responsibilities
  • Must be able to perform cycle counts
  • Must show the skills to operate the forklift in a safe and proficient way
  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Must be able to safely operate the Crown Lift
  • Can train level 2 and 3 employees in the more complex tasks required for the job
  • Mastered the part numbers, knows all parts needed for all systems and each system's features functions and the differences among them
  • Preform general housekeeping
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Must be flexible; able to work extended hours and weekends when required
  • Attendance must be 98% or better
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
