Title:     Video Content Creator

Status:   Part-time, 20hrs, hourly, non-exempt, ministry support staff

 

Working Relationship:   Accountable to the Senior Pastor, through the Lead Team with direct supervision for their responsibilities to the Director of Communications.

 

Purpose:    The Video Content Creator is responsible for producing video content for Calvary Church. This role focuses on video production, editing, and storytelling and serves to support all church ministries in equipping people to pursue life in Christ.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Film/Video Production/Communications or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • A minimum of one-year experience in a video production position is required.
  • Proficiency with production equipment (lighting, sound equipment, cameras)
  • Creativity / strong editorial problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products, with emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition
  • An ability to be a team-player within the staff and lay people
  • Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and demonstrate a good work ethic
  • An ability to be a team-player within the staff and lead teams of volunteers

 

Values and Beliefs

  • Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministry
  • Must regularly attend Calvary Church

 

Responsibilities

  • Storyboarding, writing, shooting, directing, and editing video segments for Calvary Church. Video segments include, but are not limited to, baptism testimonial story videos, promotional videos, training videos, and any other video content.
  • Direct photography on all film shoots and manage the technical aspects of the film including cameras, sound, lighting, design, etc.
  • Make creative decisions regarding the editing of projects based on written scripts or input from communications team, and ensuring quality control and consistency on final project.
  • Actively participating in communications team and all-staff meetings.
  • Attending and contributing to various ministry and department meetings, as applicable to current or new projects.
  • Stay current on creative, communications, and technological trends.

 

Work Schedule and Time Allotment

  • Work schedule: part-time, flexible related to programs and projects. Potential weekend responsibilities. To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with his supervisor

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Light physical work requirements (lifting 20-50 lbs.), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, prolonged positioning under hot bright lights, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions and prolonged looking at monitors and computer screens and operating a mouse and keyboard.
  • Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation or elimination of those ideas.
  • Basic mathematical, reading, reasoning, speaking and writing skills.
