Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverview:The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. LVNs are responsible for providing basic nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and assisting with patient assessments. They work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients in various healthcare settings.Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing basic nursing care tasks, such as taking vital signs and assisting with daily living activities
  • Administering medication and injections as directed by healthcare providers
  • Collaborating with registered nurses and physicians to develop and update patient care plans
  • Documenting patient interactions, symptoms, and medication administration in medical charts
  • Assisting in patient assessments and communicating findings to the healthcare team
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of patient care areas
  • Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Responding to emergencies and performing first aid when necessary
  • Participating in educational and training activities to maintain licensure and improve skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program
  • Current LVN license in the state of practice
  • CPR certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing principles and practices
  • Proficiency in medication administration and dosage calculations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient information
  • Empathy and compassion for patients and their families
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Understanding of infection control protocols and safety measures
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients when necessary
  • Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in nursing practice
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with other healthcare professionals
