I. JOB SUMMARY:

      The Admissions Director will screen prospective residents and coordinate their admission to the Facility.  the Admissions Director represents the Facility to the community and will market Facility services.  The Admissions Director will also collect and distribute information to appropriate staff of all new residents.

Adheres to facility Standards of Conduct and practices the Core Values of Service of the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication.

Represents Weinberg Campus accurately and honestly. Acts with integrity and in the best interest of Weinberg Campus.  Identifies instances of non-compliance and takes appropriate action, including reporting violations of the CRP.  Adheres to Facility policy or regulations.  Business relationships are conducted in the best interest of Weinberg Campus, free of gifts, favors or other improper inducements.

II. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  • Screens, interviews and evaluates prospective residents and their representatives to determine suitability and eligibility of placement including financial arrangements.
  • Obtains and completes all necessary admission and readmission paperwork including the application prior to placement.
  • Provides information to applications, their families and the referring medical providers providers related to admission to the Facility.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with Insurance Representatives and Social Services Agencies to ensure payment.
  • Visits local hospitals daily and maintains an ongoing schedule of their hospitals, doctors offices and community organization to visit.
  • Coordinates prospective admission with the Admissions Committee, which includes the Directory of Nursing and Administration.
  • Schedules and provides tours or makes arrangements for someone to be available to do so.
  • Attends all in-services and meetings as required.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

III. OTHER JOB DUTIES:

  • Answer Telephones, Balance figures, Compile Statistics, Compose letters/memorandums
  • Coordinate events/meetings, Input data into computer programs, Interview others
  • Maintain resident charts, Proof-read documents, Research information, Schedule Appointments
  • Ability to use a Calculator, Clinical computer information systems, Fax, Personal Computer, Photocopier

IV. JOB SKILLS:

  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Reasoning Skills:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

V. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:

AAS (Associates in Applied Sciences) Degree.  Bachelors Degree Preferred.

License/Certification:

Valid, current RN License (Preferred) 

Valid, current Social Work License (Preferred)   

Experience:

Six (6) months to One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

VI. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance

  • Contact with residents under wide variety of circumstances
  • Exposed to toxic chemicals due to photocopier
  • Exposed to a variety of electro-mechanical hazards
  • Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens, housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals, unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness), dangers of assaults/hazards from investigating alarms
  • Flexibility in scheduled working hours/days to meet needs of unit
  • Handles absentee replacement on short notice
  • Handles emergency or crisis situations (potential resident violence)
  • Increased pressure due to multiple calls and inquired
  • May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
  • Occasionally may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasionally may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock and vibrations
  • Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
  • Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
  • Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment
  • Subject to many interruptions
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
