VMware Engineer Job Description

An international bank is seeking a skilled VMware Engineer to join their Technology Infrastructure and Engineering group for a contract to hire assignment. The role will focus on engineering and operating a Hyperconverged VMware stack running on VXRails. In the long term, this position will help transition VMware infrastructure to Azure Cloud alongside the existing Cloud team. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python is a plus. This resource can be based in the NYC, Miami, or LA area and will work in a hybrid onsite model (twice a week).

Skills and Requirements

6+ years of experience as a VMware Engineer with Best Practice deployment for scale and reliability

Strong experience with VMware operation support, networking operational support, hyperconverged storage operational support, and operational monitoring with 3rd party tools

Experience troubleshooting network, VMware, and driver/firmware issues

Excellent understanding of all-round networking and firewall principles - Python/PowerShell scripting/automation capability

Azure Cloud foundational understanding
