We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to work full-time on the day shift in the Medical Department at the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown, PA. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks such as medical records request, administrative reports, Continuity of Care (COC) release, and other medical duties including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining examination and treatment areas
  • Verification of medications and medical information
  • Maintain medication records
  • Answer telephone and processing calls
  • Maintain filing system and confidentiality of information at all times
  • Provide full administrative and clerical support to the medical department at the facility to include typing of various reports, letters and memorandum
  • Data Entry
  • Scanning documents into the computer
  • Assisting with the credentialing process of new hires
  • Maintain staff log
  • Schedule transports
  • Assist with billing

Requirements:

The Medical Assistant must have completed an approved Medical Assistant program and also bring some clerical experience and ability to type to the position in order to be considered.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multi-tasking
  • Good grasp of patient assessment skills
  • Effective communication skills & pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Minimum of 2 years medical assistant or medical office administrative support.
  • Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with confidential matters and information is required
