JOB TITLE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

We’re looking to hire an experienced professional to join our team as the Executive Director at Kids Rock Child Care Center in Luverne, MN.

As Executive Director, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the opening of the new childcare center.
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Manage staff development and create a positive work culture.
  • Build strong relationships with families and the community.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations.

PAY

  • Starting Salary $70,000

HOURS

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Be a graduate of a high school or hold an equivalent diploma
  • Minimum of 6 months of paid or unpaid staff supervision experience
  • Minumim 2-year degree (at least nine quarter credits or 90 hours earned) in any combination of accredited courses in staff supervision, human relations, and child development, early childhood education, or business management
  • Must meet the education & experience qualifications of a teacher specified in Minnesota Rules part 9503.0032
  • Must pass MN DHS Background Study

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • Three years of direct management experience as Director or Assistant Director within a licensed child care center or similar operation
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team of staff
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services or related field.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, fundraising, and grant writing.
  • Experience in early childhood teaching in a childcare setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus a basic knowledge of technology and its use
  • Strong knowledge and experience with regulatory agencies such as MN DHS Rule 3, Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), Parent Aware, Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CAFCP) or the ability and willingness to learn.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required within 3 months of hire; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary

  • Work with and train staff to effectively work with all children, including challenged and underprivileged children – to make a difference
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Understand financial statements and overall principles of sound business operations.
  • Provide excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities when dealing with stressful situations and conflict resolutions.
