Your Role:

  • Lead by example and set positive examples of behavior and clear expectations for performance

  • Supervise and support all group exercise and personal training team members

  • Responsible for maintaining direct communication with team and members

  • Assist in defining professional growth opportunities, available tools and resources for team members

  • Assist General Manager in performing instructor evaluations for team members and group exercise instructors as scheduled or by request

  • Provide performance feedback to team members on an ongoing basis and independently of annual performance review and goal progression meetings

  • Create and maintain a supportive, friendly, team environment where respect is demonstrated, contributions are recognized and process improvement is encouraged

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling and evaluating all group exercise and personal training team members

  • Responsible for approving payroll for all team including supplemental earnings

  • Work with GM and HR to effectively and accurately train new and current team members on designated areas of responsibility


Personal Training Program

  • Help with statistical analysis within fitness management software for program performance monthly

  • Maintain personal training budget and report to GM monthly

  • Monitor and track overall program

  • Creates opportunities to recruit new clients, works off goals, and meet performance goals

  • Updating various marketing tools regularly including but not limited to website, social media, flyers, etc.

  • Plan, implement, and ensure quality control for all aspects of the personal training program. This includes but is not limited to; developing personal training guidelines, protocol, etc., including evaluating personal trainers. Responsible for finding qualified trainers to conduct fitness assessments and personal training sessions

  • Ensure exercise safety of each member, proactively correct improper form and execution, observe general safety for prompt response to medical emergencies.

  • Conduct individual and group personal training sessions


Group Exercise Program

  • Oversee group exercise schedule ensuring class quantity and class type meet the needs of the members and fulfill contract requirements

  • Promote the group exercise program on an ongoing basis and encourage participation via effective marketing and creative programming

  • Lead the internal training of team members needing assistance and/or those interested in expanding their instructional skill set

  • Monitor class attendance monthly and respond to utilization trends that are indicative of a need for schedule re-evaluation and/or adjustment

  • Solicit feedback from participants on an ongoing basis to ensure participant satisfaction in real time

  • Assist with the analysis of survey results specific to group exercise; create action items and make recommendations to address constructive feedback

  • Ensure group exercise instructor timecards are prepared accurately and submitted on time according to established pay periods

  • Instruct safe and effective group exercise classes (onsite & virtual) ensure class quantity is met based on contract requirements


Other

  • Proactively assist with the inspection of the facility daily and report any cleaning, facility, or equipment issues to appropriate personnel

  • Perform routine maintenance in accordance with documented standards on strength and conditioning equipment. Provide timely and accurate documentation of repair history.

  • Proactively define areas for self-development and identify the tools and resources needed to address those areas. Work with supervisor to determine the best resources available while meeting all the Elevation Health standards of your current position

  • Meet and support objectives, goals and initiatives of the specific Elevation team

  • Contribute new ideas, seek internal and external resources to support the goals of the teams

  • Adheres to timelines, produces quality work, show initiative by taking on team responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings

  • Seek out internal/external resources and explore opportunities for professional growth

  • Review company communications and complete action items by established due dates

  • Other duties as assigned


What we are looking for:

  • Certifications: Bachelors in Exercise Science or other related field, CPR/AED certification required, Personal training certification (NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE) required, Group exercise certification preferred, Nutrition coaching certification preferred, Maintain all required certifications throughout duration of employment

  • Experience: Group exercise experience

  • Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication, customer service, and presentation skills, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Excellent computer skills including Microsoft and Google Suite
