Hospice of the Piedmont is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. We are seeking a passionate full-time Clinical Services Manager to direct the care given by a team of RN case managers, LPNs, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, home health aides, and volunteers in providing services to hospice patients and their families.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
  • Registered Medical Assistants (RMAs)
  • Housekeepers
  • Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
  • Team Coordinators
  • Resource Nurses

Responsibilities/General Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Manages the delivery of all skilled and non-skilled services to patients and families ensuring quality patient care
  • Leads the interdisciplinary team meeting
  • Ensures all necessary information is accurate and available for timely and accurate billing
  • Ensures patient record information is accurate, current, and available according to regulations
  • Participates in emergency response planning
  • Hires and supervises staff in coordination with the Human Resources Department
  • Manages payroll and scheduling
  • Ensures services are provided according to hospice regulations, policies and procedures, conditions of participation, accreditation, and HIPAA compliance regulations
  • Oversees all direct care costs, patient care vendors, and ancillary services to ensure service delivery and quality, including but not limited to medical supplies, staff mileage, DME, pharmacy, physical therapy, and dietetic services
  • Role-models the mission, vision, and values of Hospice of the Piedmont
  • Ensures superior customer service by providing prompt service recovery
  • Addresses all complaints in accordance with HOP policies and procedures and/or legal compliance requirements
  • Actively participates in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement process
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding established quality goals
  • Provides guidance and direction to IDT members and ensures they receive required and appropriate training
  • Reviews team member’s duties and caseloads, adjusting as needed; applies appropriate staffing models to the delivery of patient care
  • Creates an atmosphere that fosters growth, professionalism, teamwork, and efficiency of the IDT
  • Seeks out challenges and change; understands change management
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of turnover, staff satisfaction, and engagement
  • Prepares performance appraisals, including ride-along visits, educational requirements, and goals for direct reports in coordination with discipline-specific leadership
  • Collaborates with the Education department to ensure annual clinical competency is completed and appropriate to meet the needs of the patient population, agency policy, and standards of practice
  • Assists with budget preparation of assigned teams; monitors and provides guidance for the team to adhere to the budget, such as labor, supplies, medications, and DME
  • Maintains clinical competence to provide direct patient care as needed to support the team and patients we serve
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Minimum of five years of nursing experience required, with hospice nursing and nursing management experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to actively listen
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, flexibility, and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to motivate others and lead an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong sense of integrity and commitment to excellence
  • Knowledge of hospice regulations, policies and procedures, conditions of participation, and HIPAA compliance regulations
  • Basic knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement regulations
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Basic computer skills
