Position Summary

To ensure the manufacturing of company products is completed in alignment to prescribed production processes. Provide direction within assigned factory area to production associates. Ensures all operations are safely carried out, tac times are met or exceeded and established quality metrics are achieved. Develop a highly empowered, world-class team to deliver excellent efficiency results. Identify and drive the continuous improvement opportunities within production.

Essential Functions

  • Understands factory objectives and drives team to meet; safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency targets.
  • Determines requirements for standard work instructions and procedures, reviews and provides feedback prior to production release
  • Has deep understanding of manufacturing processes production line balancing and equipment utilization.
  • Identifies potential safety issues immediate corrective actions, communicates within staff needed changes.
  • Establishes manufacturing staffing requirements to complete required workload
  • Conducts interviews of potential candidates, tracks / reviews existing staff’s skill set, and issues disciplinary actions as required.
  • Establishes process training requirements
  • Uses data from process and develops opportunities for improvement.
  • Tracks capacity utilization and develops plans to make improvements.
  • Driver of 5S in assigned production area.
  • Communicates information and ideas clearly.
  • Actively participates in companies change control process.
  • Drives production continuous improvement efforts using lean methodologies.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs simple equipment maintenance and assists with troubleshooting in resolving machine issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience required; 10 years or more, preferred.
  • Experience supervising teams of 20+ associates.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English with Bilingual ability in Spanish
  • Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Firm, fair, and consistent approach to company policy and employee management.
  • Demonstrated record of continuous improvement and building a culture of commitment and ownership.
  • Record of improving factory organization, throughput, productivity and costs with knowledge of associated incentive systems
  • Knowledge of ERP systems within manufacturing environment NetSuite a plus.
  • Hands on leader who can also see the “big picture’
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be willing to learn multiple responsibilities throughout the plant
  • Physical dexterity
  • Mathematical Skills (add, subtract, multiply, & divide quickly and correctly).
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word & Email).
  • Self-starter with a drive to achieve personal mastery and successfully deliver on commitments

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science or a related field
  • Experience working in Production/Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with assembly/equipment/automated manufacturing.
  • Experience in Membrane Filtration industry.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Forklift certification.
  • The salary band for this position is $72,800 to $135,200. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, job-related knowledge, experience, and location. No relocation available.
  • Second shift hours are 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm
