JOB TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic
LOCATION: Langhorne
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the upkeep and performance of building maintenance tasks in the following fields: carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc. Maintenance Mechanics will split their time between repairs and maintenance, as well as performing general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. It is expected of this role to perform emergency repairs, which necessitates the ability to troubleshoot promptly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnoses and completes repairs throughout agency facilities in a comprehensive and independent manner.
- Monitors and performs prescribed preventative maintenance on light fixtures, plumbing, HVAC, water heaters, and agency buildings as required.
- Identified potential problems before they occur.
- Paints, remodels, and refurbishes facilities, as needed.
- Tracks and completes tasks reported in facilities workorder system in a timely manner.
- Ensures properties are free of trash, debris, and oversees trash/recycling providers.
- Upkeeps agency properties by mowing and edging lawns, attending to gardens, and any other outdoor needs.
- Tests the functionality of the facilities’ safety systems.
- Provides recommendations for building or grounds improvements based on defective or deteriorating conditions or opportunities to better serve clients and/or employees.
- Assists COO with specifications and information for any major work or projects.
- Provides support when there is a need to relocate employees, furniture, or vehicles.
- Assists with minor set-up and breakdown for events or programs (as needed)
- Maintains an organized and safe work environment.
- Reports any safety hazards or concerns immediately to direct supervisor.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with clients, staff, volunteers, and members of the community.
- Other duties as assigned by the COO.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position does not have any direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent and technical school education required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in building maintenance or related field.
- Knowledge of light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and construction.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair minor building issues.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. unassisted.
