Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a qualified, professional lead carpenter who possesses the desire and ability to complete all phases of residential construction, with the potential for the right candidate to grow into project management.

The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of residential construction renovations and all carpentry materials. An in depth understanding of framing, finish work, cabinetry, custom carpentry, electrical, plumbing, light mechanical, exteriors, interiors, tile, floor coverings, waterproofing, and associated items is required. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
  • Create material lists proactively.
  • Cut, shape and smooth lumber, moldings, cabinetry, and other material (e.g. sheathing, fiberglass) according to measurements and drawings/plans.
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
  • Lay out flooring, roofing or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
  • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated.
  • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Build scaffolding and other construction structures
  • All phases of framing, trim, layout, structural components, tile, light plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.

Requirements

  • Good attitude with ability to think and problem solve.
  • Willingness to learn as well as teach to maintain continuous improvement in our workforce.
  • Proven experience as lead/master carpenter.
  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Good understanding of basic math
  • Good physical condition and endurance
