Responsibilities:
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the product meets customer needs, aligns with the company’s goals, and complies with safety and regulatory standards.
Use creativity, technical skills, and knowledge to resolve complex problems and create products that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Transform ideas into tangible, market-ready products.
Analyze existing products to identify areas for improvement and update the current
Conduct various tests and experiments to ensure product performance, reliability, and safety.
Iterate and refine the designs to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools, create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Sampling of different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suit the new product brief.
Provide technical guidance and specifications to suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the procurement of high-quality, suitable parts that meet design requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address design-related issues, optimize production efficiency, and ensure smooth production ramp-up.
Create and maintain accurate documentation, including design files, specifications, and tests. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certification.
Gather customer feedback, analyze data, and propose design enhancements or modifications to enhance product functionality and competitiveness.
Create technical documents to assist others in step-by-step operation or troubleshooting of control and electrical systems.
Creates mechanical models and tolerance analyses to simulate mechanical design concepts.
Leads and supports multi-departmental initiatives to achieve design/project requirements.
Provides recommendations for key changes in our methods or processes to include presentations to individual work teams.
Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
Assist in developing a Quality Control program for the developed products, meeting safety
guidelines by industry standards, policymakers, and company policies.
- Develops project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders, ensures technical feasibility, and ensures all projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
- Conducts research, documenting findings, and presents reports at meetings.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Coaches and mentors team members as needed.
- Oversees technical aspects of applicable projects.
- Ability to apply worldwide standards, including ANSI, UL, and ISO regulations.
Skills:
- Quality Function Deployment (QFD) development planning and process knowledge.
- Interest or experience in electrical, software, or mechanical design preferred.
- Experience with Arduino or other microcontrollers preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agency staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong professional skills, including project management, time management, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and duties with tight deadlines.

**Work Environment: **
This job may require you to stand for an extended period, and lifting/heavy lifting is required. You must also be able to work in hot and cold environments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Work is Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties are in demand.
Travel:
Some travel to local suppliers may be required.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Engineering: Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Application or related field, or equivalent education and experience (required).
- 3-5 years experience working in a technical capacity/environment (required).
- 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment or comparable (required).
- 1-3 years of project management experience (preferred).
