Performs preventive and corrective equipment maintenance for a 24 hour/7 days a week operation. Technical proficiency to accurately troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment, train team members, and lead a crew of mechanics to complete assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs and develops predictive and preventive maintenance, equipment modification, and new equipment installation tasks using written and verbal instructions
- Plans and/or executes corrective maintenance utilizing technical proficiency and problem-solving skills. Performs tasks largely unsupervised
- Trains other mechanics in equipment maintenance and supporting business processes. Leads crews of mechanics to complete assigned tasks
- Uses expertise to identify opportunities for improvements in equipment technical design, maintenance, operations, and supporting business processes; implements improvements with appropriate justification, technical evaluation, and appropriate change control approval
- Accurately documents as-found and as-left equipment conditions, parts and labor for all completed work using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Utilizes equipment history to develop necessary jobs and target equipment improvements
- Maintains departmental tools, clean shop, and plant areas during and following maintenance work. Completes housekeeping of general shop areas as assigned
- Activities may include structural demolition of buildings and equipment with focus on dismantling and salvage
- Complies with GMP, Environmental, Health & Safety, and company policies and requirements. Helps assure adherence in work by others
- May substitute for Lead Mechanic or provide maintenance planning support on a temporary basis. Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor
This job provides leadership within the maintenance group and in the execution of major tasks; but has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Welding experience (Fabrication/Piping) highly desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS- Develop clear written documentation and provide verbal communication of maintenance procedures and technical, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Provide clear written, verbal technical, and non-technical reports and descriptions
- Understand, apply, and create technical drawings of mechanical components and systems. Ability to communicate technical details with equipment manufacturers to resolve equipment failures
- Ability to input sufficient and concise information into computer-based systems, including the CMMS, e-mail, and internet-based software
Apply basic algebra, geometry, measurements, and physics.
REASONING ABILITYTroubleshoot and solve complex problems, especially regarding equipment and mechanical systems, based on facts and data.

- Manual dexterity with knowledge and ability to work with construction/demolition equipment, to include the potential to operate hand and power tools of all types
- Proficient with the CMMS, e-mail, spreadsheet, and word processing software
Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
