Psychiatry MA/LVN:

The Medical Assistant (Psychiatry) is an unlicensed individual who is responsible for performing a wide variety of different clerical as well as clinical non-invasive duties, primarily in the psychiatry department with an emphasis on team-based care.

Job Duties:

  • Manage psychiatry referrals by processing and prioritizing in-house referrals and managing referrals to local support programs and community behavioral health resources.
  • Perform clinical activities that encompass all patient needs related to the safe and effective delivery of patient care based on the principles of the patient centered medical home and best practice in the ambulatory setting.
  • Proactively assist providers as requested and work within a team approach model that includes multiple departments and roles and includes effective contributions to the creation of a positive patient experience.
  • Perform administrative duties which include greeting patients, maintaining paper and electronic health records, telephone duties including notifying patients of test results, coordination of care, completing forms, making appointments, handling correspondence, scheduling tests and laboratory services, and assisting with areas related to billing and compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Assistant certificate.
  • Minimum one year of experience
  • Current CPR/BLS Certificate.
