SUMMARY

The ESL Tutor supports the ESL Instructors by working with adult students
to provide supplemental small group instruction and tutoring support at a high school
level. The ESL Tutor will maintain detailed records of students enrolled into the
programs. The ESL Tutor must possess the ability to work in a team-oriented
environment. The ESL Tutor will assist students in a lab setting and will provide
students with language support, tech support, and support in ESL
Education. The ESL Tutor will also register and test student as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES includes, but not limited to the following.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.


● Assist students with the completion of assignments, homework, test preparation, etc.
● Assist and trains students with the use of technology including devices, programs,
email and video communication platforms (i.e. Zoom, WebEx, and Google Meet).
● Assist Instructors in the implementation of individualized learning plans for all
students with bilingual/bicultural instructional needs.
● Provide individual assistance to students to ensure an understanding of concepts and
serve as a translator to facilitate communication.
● Strictly adhere to the FIELD’s classroom policies and guidelines in both in-person and
online.
● Collaborate with Instructors to ensure a positive student experience.
● Document and track the distribution of technological devices to students. 
● Represent and market the various programs to the target community/region.
● Monitor some of the student recruitment, retention, and average daily attendance
(ADA).
● Assist in developing, managing and maintain electronic student files in a
central and organized manner.

● Assist with testing administration and scoring as assigned.
● Assist with student enrollment and registration in FIELD's ESL program 
● Communicate regularly with the Administrative Offices and ensure all CASAS
paperwork is delivered within the specified due date.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

● High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
● Some college experience, preferred.
● Experience in educational setting, preferred.
● At least two (2) years of related experience preferred.
● Proficiency with Canvas program, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite, preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
● Bilingual in Spanish required.

● Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials, including school assignments.
